Geowise Arranges the Finland Pavilion at Barcelona Smart City Expo World Congress 2015

The Finland pavilion will be organized by Geowise at the Barcelona Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on 17 – 19 November 2015. Finnish companies specialized in smart city solutions have the opportunity to show their skills at this international event. The event aims to raise foreign cities’ and companies’ interest in Finnish companies.

Geowise participates at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2015 (SCEWC) in conjunction with Tekes and Team Finland. Geowise organizes arrangements for participating Finnish companies and arranges transportation of exhibition materials from Finland to Barcelona. Business pitch practice sessions for the exhibition will be held free of charge for participating companies. Geowise also arranges joint materials for Finnish participants. A number of companies and cities will attend the fair and will present their own smart city solutions.

“Cities are not necessarily familiar with the latest technology and its possibilities. On the other hand, companies might not be familiar with the variety of practices and needs of cities, or they are too small to attend alone to big venues.”, elaborates strategic program manager Virpi Mikkonen from Tekes.

Finnish start-up and growth companies are welcome to attend SCEWC 2015. The exhibition is an opportunity for companies to present their own solutions and to increase foreign investments in Finland. The event also provides companies with an opportunity to build networks and combine know-how in an international environment.

“Companies which are eager to participate can contact us directly and we will help them to participate in the event,” says Pertti Woitsch from Geowise.

The event has been organized annually since 2011, but the Finland pavilion is now organized for the first time. In 2014 SCEWC was visited by nearly 11 000 visitors from 92 countries, from both the public and private sectors.
